Personal Statement I believe that God has prepared and directed my life in a very special way. I have looked at each aspect of my life as a training opportunity. The amount of experience that I have accumulated both in my ministry positions as well as my secular jobs has had its purpose. I know what being a Christian is like from both sides of the pulpit. I have heard it said many times by people within the church profession that they have little feel for life in the everyday work world that their congregations live in. I know that the real life experiences that I have been through are a benefit as I have responded to God's call into ministry. Knowledge is often the cornerstone for where we head in life. I believe that God has revealed Himself to us not only through scripture, but also through many other ways. In light of that, I feel that people can be reached for the Kingdom of God through a variety of ways. I know from my experience of returning to school after many years in the workforce, the power of education, but I am also keenly aware of the value of life experiences and the value of sharing that with those around us. If God can use a jawbone of a donkey (Judges 15) he can surely use me and my experiences in life to build His kingdom.
Philosophy of Ministry
I believe that all Christians have a responsibility to minister to their fellow man. Jesus shows us in Luke 10:30-37 that we are to reach out to all people who are in need. By doing this we help people to reconcile themselves to God. Professional Ministry is the process of training, equipping, and encouraging the people of God in participation in that mission.

Personal Statement of Theology I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God and it is His revelation of Himself to man. I believe that He used human writers and their experiences to convey His message to man. I believe that God's word is Holy and totally accurate to His revelation.
I believe that there is one and only one true and living God. He is a triune being who is revealed as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is a Holy being who is infinite, eternal, and unchanging. He is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. God is all loving and all wise. He created heaven and earth in six days. All that was created is designed to bring glory to Him. God is a loving and just God
I believe that Jesus Christ is both God and man. He was born of a virgin. He lived 33 years on this earth. Jesus was crucified, buried and rose again three days later. I believe that He was bodily resurrected and ascended into heaven after a time again on earth. I believe that He is coming back again to earth to reign for 1000 years.
I believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Godhead. His primary role is to enlighten people of their relationship toward God. He works in unbelievers to convict them of their sins and in the lives of believers to guide them in understanding God. I believe that He indwells believers and is the Christian's seal of eternal life. As a guide He does not impose Himself on the believer but rather is evident only when the believer requests Him to be there. It is the presence of the Holy Spirit that enables believers to fellowship with and worship God.
I believe that man is created in the image of God by God. When man made the choice to sin against God in the garden man suffered death for the first time. Mankind, because of the fall, has become depraved. Man cannot ever redeem himself of his depravity and it is only through the grace of God and the placing of faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ and resurrection that man is able to come to God. Man's redemption is free to be accepted by man and is a gift from God through God's grace. It can only be accepted by man's faith. Man cannot ever be good enough to earn or merit their salvation. Jesus took all the wrath of God upon himself on the cross for us.
I believe that the church is referred to in scripture as a local body of believers. I believe that the church is to minister to the people of the local community as well as support missions. I believe that baptism is one of the two ordinances that were instituted by God. It has not power upon one's salvation and a picture or testimony of a believer's commitment and acceptance of what Jesus did for them and a desire to follow Him and His teachings. The other ordinance is the Lord Supper and it is a symbol of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is an instrument that enables believers to remember and celebrate the gift of what Jesus did for them.
I believe in the sanctity of marriage and that God ordained that one man and one woman should form a family unit. I believe in God's blessing of human life and that it should be protected with all of man's ability.
What can I bring to a church? As you can see above I have a wide variety of experiences. I know the benefit of both a formal education as well as the lessons learned from the school of hard knocks. I have a deep burden for finding ways to help people to better understand who God is and how they can better understand how they can be an impact on God’s Kingdom. I believe very strongly in the power of family strength and will make efforts to help strengthen this God ordained structure. I believe that the family structure today is under a tremendous attack and can use all the tools that it can muster in order to fight off the attacks against it
Because of my secular experiences I am able to work with a variety of people. I have good administrative skills and can manage people as well as the technological world of computers. I know the importance of good time management as demonstrated by my ability to balance my current job, continuing my education, maintaining a good family life and being an active member of my church.
I have experience working as a support staff person and I now feel God leading me to another level. You will see in my resume that the past two years have been involved with working with the youth program in a church that had little to work with. Because of that I was often utilized in just about all aspects of the church. In volunteer status I was involved in most aspects of the churches I have been a part of. I also believe that when you look at my total experience you will see that I have a lot to offer as far both my real world experiences and my ministry duties at First Baptist Church – Delmar that would be very beneficial as a minister in your church.
