Crisis Care Level One Training
Location(s)
Disaster Relief Crisis Care Team volunteers extend the witness and care of the church into a very specialized time of ministry in the lives of people disrupted unexpectedly by a disaster.
Level 1 Training is designed for local clergy, counselors and ministry workers interested in ministering to the spiritual and emotional needs of disaster relief volunteer teams serving on the field or providing spiritual care for persons in disaster or crisis within Maryland/Delaware.
Level 2 Training (offered at a later date) is an advanced course for those willing to travel out-of-state to respond to major disaster or crisis situations as part of a larger crisis care team
Crisis Care Level One Training will introduce participants to the fundamental dynamics, concepts, skills, and demands necessary for providing intentional spiritual care in a disaster relief or local crisis situation. This training will better equip a local pastor/minister for crisis ministry within the local community as well as equipping them to deploy in Southern Baptist Disaster Relief responses.
Due to the sensitive nature of this ministry, registration is open to pastors, retired pastors, chaplains, counselors, church staff and ministry workers. Other individuals are welcome with the recommendation of their pastor.
